Dear IFMSS members and friends, 

We welcome you all to Sweden to attend the 40th Annual IFMSS Conference which will take place on the 4th – 9th of September 2023.
After almost 20 years since the last IFMSS conference in Scandinavia, hosted in Denmark in 2005 by Dr. Connie Jørgensen, we are incredibly excited to be able invite you back to the Nordic region.

As our location venue, we have chosen a mixture of the beautiful and stylish Swedish capital city Stockholm, and the UNESCO world heritage city of Visby on the fascinating island of Gotland, located east of the Swedish mainland. This gives us an opportunity to experience the medieval atmosphere as well as to soak up the pulse of contemporary Scandinavian lifestyle and culture.

We appreciate the privilege of having the entirety of the historic, fully-serviced hotel Clarion Hotel Wisby as our venue for the main scientific segment of the conference. This will enable great opportunities to network, as well as share ideas, experiences, innovations, technical developments, basic and clinical research in the area of fetal medicine and surgery.

The four-day scientific program will come to end in Stockholm, affectionately dubbed “the Venice of the North”, a city sprawling across 14 islands. We will enjoy lunch as we travel by boat through the well-known archipelago outside the city. The evening will be spent in many scientists’ dream destination, the Golden Hall of Stockholm City Hall, for an IFMSS “Nobel” dinner party.

The most important aspect for the success of this meeting is your participation and we sincerely hope to see you in Sweden in 2023. Our website will be updated soon with more information, including travel arrangements, visa requirements, a preliminary program with details of social events, and requirements/precautions regarding Covid19. Registration is now open with an Early bird registration deadline on 4 May 2023.
